Message Board Rules

On The Emmis Message Board

Welcome to On The Emmis Message Board!

Please feel free to post a message related to your involvement in Pathway Drug Abuse Program, Crossroads of Missouri, Cornerstone of Colorado, Insight of Georgia or North Carolina, PDAP, Freeway, Step Two, SLIC Ranch or any other Meehan related program.

If you are hoping to connect with lost friends who you knew through the program, leave a message in our M.I.A. Forum. Someone might know how to reach them.

If you are considering involvement in a Meehan-controlled program, have a loved one who is involved, or are currently involved yourself, and have concerns, you may want to post questions here.

We at O.T.E. Inc. strive to provide you with a safe, positive and helpful recovery-based message board. Our safety features include secure registration requiring a valid email and IP address, word watch filter, offensive terminology reader, third party message board monitoring and banning of message board users who violate the rules.

1. Please be advised that no personal attacks, threats, unreasonable criticism, derogatory or inflammatory comments will be tolerated towards other board members. If you disagree with another member's facts, focus on the facts you wish to present and not the person who posted. Remember that all our experiences vary in great degrees depending on the age, number of years, city and the positions we held while in the program.

2. If you are posting a controversial viewpoint you need to stick to the facts. You are welcome to defend your position as long as you are not attacking the person(s) debating with you.

3. No member may spam, flood topics, or post a message with the sole intent to sow, upset and discord this community. Any member doing this will lose their board privileges.

4. Baiting Topics or comments meant to annoy heckle or badger will not be allowed.

5. "Dropping Bombs" and "Hit and Run" posts will result in a moderator or administrator blocking your IP address and banning you from posting on the board.

6. A member may not own more than ONE username, (sock puppets)Unless expressed permission is granted by the webmaster, this permission must be done in writing, if a user is caught using multiple usernames with out permission the alternate username will be deleted and the original user risks the possibility of being ban. No spoofed IP's will be allowed. Using multiple usernames to disrupt the message boards or to bypass any other board rules (i.e. flooding topics, bumping, dropping bombs, trolling, hit and runs) will result in you IP address being banned and possible legal action if this site should so choose.

7. In some cases before any disciplinary action of any kind is taken the offender will be notified by e-mail or PM of the situation. This may be a warning or a suspension of privileges. However, banning without warning is possible if the moderator or administration deem it necessary for the overall health of the boards.

8. You must respect the privacy of others on this board; do not post peoples phone numbers, address, or any other personal information regarding someone's private life. Speaking about other people's children in a manner that could negatively impact that child will not be tolerated.

9. Deleted Posts:

Any & all posts that violate these rules will be deleted. Any posts deemed inappropriate by our board moderators may be deleted at our discretion. So, if you see a post disappear, just know there was a good reason. If you feel the need to discuss the issue it should be done as a PM. If you chose to debate the issue on the board it will be immediately deleted. Again, this is for the health of the board and is not personal.

10. Your Freedom to leave:

All visitors/members to the O.T.E. Inc. message boards are here voluntarily. Nobody is forcing you to post on this board. The administrators and Moderators try their best to be fair and to make this board a welcoming place for all who want to be here and participate in a lively exchange of experiences and ideas. If you do not like the members of the O.T.E. Inc. message board or the way we, the administration, choose to run it then we strongly suggest that you exercise your right to leave.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Occasionally an uninformed chat-room/message board user (most likely one who has violated the rules and subsequently been banned) wishes to "make a stand" and threaten lawsuits over the First Amendment right to freedom of speech.

The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution reads as follows:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Freedom of speech is a constitutional right in the framework of government versus citizens. The right to freedom of speech does not apply in someone's business, home, etc. In other words, your right to free speech ends at the front door of these boards. When you use these boards, you'll follow these rules.

If you are banned for violating the rules and actually have the moxie to walk into an attorney's office to try to begin a First Amendment lawsuit, please be sure to invite us along. We are not a glum lot and always enjoy a good laugh.

If you do have any question about the rules of this board do not post it on the board, you may email the moderators directly at modsquad@ontheemmis.com and your question will be addressed, please allow 72 hours for a response.

Lastly, we live by our words online. When you are posting something that may be considered controversial, before you press the "post" button, walk away from you computer for a few minutes, come back and re-read your post again and then choose if that is really what you want to put out there as a representation of who you are and what you stand for.

Also remember that the information and advice that is given here are the opinions of the people who post here based on our experience before during and after our time in the program. They are the opinions and beliefs of the various people who post here and should be viewed as such. Many times you will receive very helpful and informative advice but it is always a good idea to double check the facts, get other opinions and experience for yourself, what is right for you and your family. O.T. E. Inc. is not responsible for any misinformation that may be posted, or anything resulting from the use of the information found here in.

When you click enter and/or register as a user you agree to the terms and conditions above, as well as our Terms Of Service.
