Message: I was in Crossroads in St. Chuck from like 96-99 before relapsing and being sent to an 18 month program in Texas.
Got it together and I'll be sober 9 years on May 12. I'm currently working on my MBA and am a Marketing Director for a growing coffee concept.
I don't resent Crossroads and figure it was part of my path. Besides, it kept me out of trouble for a couple years, and a lot can be said for that.

Message: Atlanta Insight 99-00ish. Got into way more trouble in the group than I probably would have not in the group. Glad to see some people have made it. Is polestar still standing or has it finally caught on fire? Good luck everyone!

Message: Good to see some old school names up here. I miss u guys a lot and still think about you all the time. That place messed with all of our heads and I am SOOO sorry if I contributed to that with any of you.
The super-hyper-critical self-analysis goes away after awhile and you eventually adjust. We've ALL had our ups and downs since leaving that place and dealt/not dealt with it in our own ways. SHOUT OUT to 'real friends', 'independent thought' and 'non-judgement'. THUMBS DOWN to 'racsim', 'cults' and 'glass jar'.
Gonna be in the ATL area this spring. Shout at me if u wanna hook up and grab a couple cans of spray paint :)

Message: Yeah, i was in pathway for my impressionable, lost, teenage years from '93-'96. i was in the west side younger group and made it a couple of months in tempe older group.
i've lost touch with almost all of my friends from there. i know of a few who've died, a few who are not doing so hot, a couple who are clean again after periods of, yeah you know, etc. i'm that fuck also, who is once again in recovery.
i regret having been exposed to these groups at such a fucked up spot as a stupid teenager. i don't blame the group, i take responsiblity for my own actions.

Message: i don't have a huge problem with crossroads other than the self willing relationship crap. I was told that I was self willing a relationship and I was "messed up". I have been with my husband for 5 years this year, have a child and a home and 2 dogs. We both drink and are happy with our lives and my husband deploys for Afghanistan soon and I couldn't be more proud. I don't agree with most of the things crossroads teaches and I wasted 5 years of my life but at the same time learned a lot of things and made a lot of good friends and I don't regret anything because I met my husband there and wouldn't change a thing. I don't see the point of outpatient or step 2 either. I wish my mom would have saved her money. I was 14 and didn't have a problem...but the counselors were really convincing and manipulative.
